Band of Horses Unveil Album Artwork For Infinite Arms

As reported last week, Band of Horses have a new album set to drop on May 18. Unveiling the artwork today (above), after much speculation, Band of Horses also announced that Infinite Arms will not be released on just one, but on three different record labels — Brown records, Fat Possum and Columbia. Christopher Wilson — responsible for the artwork — will also provide addition photography within the product upon the albums release.

Much like Raekwon’s stunning 2009 release Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… PT. II — One of Neon’s favorites of last yearWu-Massacre, an album that features key Wu members Ghostface Killah, Method Man and Raekwon, has had it’s fair share of pushed back release dates. But good things come to those who are patient.

With a now confirmed set release date of March 30 via Def Jam, Wu Massacre will consist of 12 tracks, featuring guest spots from other Wu-Tang members, Sun God and to my surprise, the awesome Tracy Morgan (for a skit!)

Free Energy, a Philadelphia based Rock band, will release their debut album Stuck on Nothing via DFA/Astralwerks on March 9. James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, and owner of DFA records, produced this amazingly catchy power-pop album and you can stream/download the first single entitled: “Hope Child” above.

Jónsi Readies Debut Solo Album

After releasing the colorful first single “Boy Lilikoi”, which is set to debut on Jónsi’s debut solo album Go, curiosity sparked just as to when the album would see the light of day. Well question no further. With musical arrangements being credited to Nico Muhly (worked with Grizzly Bear, Bjork, and many others)  Go will drop April 6 via Parlophone / XL records Stateside and the day prior everywhere else in the world. The image that you see above is the album artwork, created by Jónsi’s sisters Inga and Lilja.

Joanna Newsom Reveals New Song Along with Displeasing Album Artwork

A brand new song by Joanna Newsom entitled: “81″ hit Drag City’s official website today and can be heard by clicking through here. Drag City will be releasing Newsom’s latest — a massive triple CD — called: Have One on Me on February 23.

The artwork can be seen on the right (yes, that hideously blank image has been confirmed as being the actual artwork) and more tasteful press photo of Newsom is below.

*FYI - Drag City is having server problems, most likely due to the high number of visitors, so be persistent. The song is there.

Gorillaz Announce Album Details & Release New Song

The first single “Stylo” off of Gorillaz’ highly anticipated upcoming full-lengther Plastic Beach started streaming last night at Gorillaz official youtube page after the track had leaked, and it’s also one of the tracks that features a guest spot from SunMoonStars — better known as Mos Def — (Bobby Womack as well). In addition, it has been revealed that Plastic Beach has an official released date of March 9 via Virgin.

A Sunny Day in Glasgow Releasing New EP & Tour Dates

A Sunny Day in Glasgow released one of the most cerebral albums of 2009 with Ashes Grammar, and now, 2010 will also see a new release from the dream-pop group in the form of an EP entitled: Nitetime Rainbows, centering around the song which first appeared on Ashes Grammar.

Nitetime Rainbows will be made available in digitial format on February 23, while a limited edition, clear vinyl 12″ can be all yours on March 2 via Mis Ojos Discos. Set to also appear on the album are two tracks that didn’t find a home on Ashes Grammar, such as the contrasting: “Daytime Rainbows”, “So Bloody, So Tight”, and “Piano Lessons”. On the flip side of the record, three remixes to “Nitetime Rainbows” will be found, courtesy of: The Buddy System, an “Acid Wash” edit from Benoît Pioulard, and Ezekiel Honig.

Gobotron Releasing Album: On Your Mark, Get Set…

Manchester Orchestra’s lead guitarist Robert McDowell will be digitally releasing his very first solo album under the moniker Gobotron entitled: On Your Mark, Get Set… on January 19 via Favorite Gentlemen Recordings. Gobotron is said to be the pet project of McDowell, taking responsibility for the all of the writing, instrumentation, and recording. On Your Mark, Get Set… first came to fruition in the summer of 2008, prior to Manchester Orchestra’s latest LP of 2009, Mean Everything to Nothing, but wasn’t mixed until this past summer, with Mean Everything to Nothing taking first priority.

Rogue Wave Provide Permalight Details

As reported, Rogue Wave has a new album coming out on March 2 via Brushfire, and based on it’s first single “Good Morning“, it’s going to be much more upbeat and dancey. The artwork, which can be seen above, is a painting by Los Angeles artist Becca Mann.
