Finally, after months of speculation, discussion, shit-talking, what-have-you, the Strokes have reached a tentative release date for their fourth, as-of-yet untitled LP — their first album in four years — shooting for September reports Spin.
Speaking with Zane Lowe of BBC’s Radio 1, drummer Fab Moretti said: “[The] basic tracks are done… now we’re just running around like kids in a candy shop,” adding: “Coming back in and writing music was kind of like riding a bicycle.”
Although having Grammy-winning producer Joe Chiccarelli (White Stripes, Beck, Bjork) on board probably made things a tad bit easier.
Their live show hasn’t been publicly announced just yet, other than a performance at this years Isle of Wight festival in June in which Moretti touched on: ”As soon as we’re done recording we’re going to go in and [practice] all those old songs,” Moretti said of their upcoming festival performance. “But I haven’t really been thinking about the old songs as we’re so into recording these new ones,” he explained, “it’s giving me butterflies in my stomach.”
