Feb.25, 2010 at 10:15 am, under Tour Dates

Trying to keep my own composure while typing this is challenging enough. Remember how I said the National with the Antlers is the must have ticket of the year last week? Well forget that. That was “bollocks”. Ateasweb has just announced that Thom Yorke will be touching down for a handful of North American dates in April where his Eraser band — now officially called “Atoms For Peace” — will be joining him (consisting of Flea, Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco.) On top of all that, electronic phenom Flying Lotus, who has a new album coming out entitled: Cosmogramma on May 4 where Thom Yorke will feature on a cut, will be the opener. Tickets are to go on sale next week. Mr. Yorke had the following to say:

2010 is panning out to be a pretty hectic and time consuming year for the British icon Damon Albarn. First up, he has a fourth Gorillaz LP currently in the works that will be entitled Plastic Beach. Bryan Ferry Recording New Album with Help From Johnny Greenwood and Flea
Nov.24, 2009 at 5:02 pm, under News

The Glam god Bryan Ferry seems to conjure ways to never lose his edge of coolness. Dating back to the early 70’s with Roxy Music and throughout his solo career, Ferry has always pushed musical aesthetics through visual performance and simply being a grand showman. Two years back, he took a bold step in trying to give classic Dylan tracks some rhythm and funk on the cleverly titled Dylanesque, meeting mixed results. Yet one thing was for certain, when Ferry has a vision of how he wants any sort of personal output to be presented, he makes sure that it’s achieved.
Ferry’s next project is a studio solo album that is on course to be released sometime next summer. The kicker? It will feature guest appearances from Radiohead guitarist/musical composer Johnny Greenwood and the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ bassist, Flea. Flea accompanied Thom Yorke (of Radiohead) for a few sold out performances last month to present a side project that brought to life some of Yorke’s material from his solo album The Eraser, while also presenting completely new material.
Bryan Ferry has provided some footage of the recording process that can be found at his official site here.
