South by Southwest descended upon Austin as it does every year, in one giant bundle of musical instruments and people, fans, promoters, writers, talent scouts and the generally party-minded. As always, there was far too much music to hear every incredible band from the various corners of the globe in which they originated, but I was lucky enough to catch some insanely talented, entertaining, energetic and spectacular acts all the same. The following is a very, very brief recap of my days of walking, standing, and jamming at SXSW 2010.

Free Energy, a Philadelphia based Rock band, will release their debut album Stuck on Nothing via DFA/Astralwerks on March 9. James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, and owner of DFA records, produced this amazingly catchy power-pop album and you can stream/download the first single entitled: “Hope Child” above.

Free Energy Plan Debut Album & Tour Dates

In support of their James Murphy produced debut album Stuck On Nothing, the Philadelphia classic rock revivalists Free Energy will be gearing up and heading out on a North American tour, beginning at the end of February. I was lucky enough to receive a promo of Stuck on Nothing a few weeks ago and have been spinning it ever since. Foreign Born will be joining Free Energy on tour as their opening act (for most of the gigs.)
Stuck on Nothing will be available digitally on March 6 and physically on May 4 via Astralwerks/DFA records. Dates below:
