Titus Andronicus Bring “A More Perfect Union” to Fallon

Aug.06, 2010 at 2:38 pm, under News

Last night, Jersey rockers Titus Andronicus brought “A More Perfect Union” to Late Night with Jimmy Fallon along with the addition of a female rhythm guitarist — that’s three guitars in total, ladies and gentlemen. Patrick Stickles’ guitar work was perfectly orchestrated and most importantly, the band looked like they were having a great time. Enjoy it boys, you’ve earned it.

On a side note, Jimmy Fallon has apparently replaced Conan as being the late night show host with the best/most indie bands. Watch the video above via Audio Perv.

The National Debut New Song “Terrible Love” on Fallon

Mar.11, 2010 at 11:37 am, under News

Last night on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, the National debuted the opening track “Terrible Love” off of their forthcoming album High Violet, which is due out on May 11 via 4AD, and the song is just plain and simply amazing.

It starts off almost treading the territories of stadium rock along the lines of U2, but swiftly draws away from such calculations, slowly building momentum to a chill-inducing crescendo that is both breathtaking and genius, confirming that these guys are really that great at what they do. High Violet is bound to be one staggering accomplishment. Check the video below.

Joanna Newsom Performs “Soft as Chalk” On Fallon

Mar.08, 2010 at 9:01 am, under News

Joanna Newsom isn’t exactly the chatty, ostensible type — hell she rarely even does any sort of interview. So it comes as no surprise that when Newsom announced that she’d be making her second T.V. performance to date, people tuned in (rumors of SNL’s Fred Armisen, Akiva Schaffer, and John Mulaney stopping by to check out even circulated, according to ‘Gum.)

On Friday night, Newsom dropped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to perform “Soft as Chalk” from her impressively ambitious latest triple album Have One On Me. Yes Newsom’s performance is as awkward as you’d imagine, but equally as flawless. Check it out below.

Neon Indian Perform “Terminally Chill” & “Ephemeral Artery” on Fallon

Feb.12, 2010 at 9:06 am, under News

With short notice, Neon Indian received word that they would be the replacement act for Kings of Convenience on last night’s taping of Late Night with Jimmy Fallon after the band canceled due to illness. Performing both “Terminally Chill” & “Ephemeral Artery,” Neon Indian brought their individualistic sound to the mainstream masses last night, hopefully, a trend that will continue to persevere on Fallon’s show.

?uestlove digged it as well.

Yeasayer Perform “Ambling Amp” on Fallon & Get Remix Treatment From The Very Best

Feb.11, 2010 at 11:47 am, under Fresh Tracks, News

DOWNLOAD MP3: Yeasayer – “Ambling Amp” (The Very Best “Mulomo” Remix)

After a show at the Bowery Ballroom on Monday and one at the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Tuesday, the guys of Yeasayer stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night to perform the first single “Ambling Amp” off of Odd Blood.

Lead singer Chris Keating looked extra suave, donning a pretty sweet suit along with a cleanly shaved face! I guess along with this reinvention of sound on Odd Blood came a visible reinvention as well.

In other Yeasayer news, The Very Best just dropped a remix on the aforementioned track “Ambling Amp” which can be streamed/downloaded above!  *Video after jump
