Up until today, LCD Soundsystem’s forthcoming third LP was title-less and image-less. Not any longer. That image that you see above is the album artwork for the now officially titled This Is Happening, says Murphy over at DFA records. It’s not bad, but definitely my least favorite bit of artwork of all three albums.

This is Happening drops Stateside on May 18 via DFA/Virgin.

DOWNLOAD MP3: LCD Soundsytem – “Oh You (Christmas Blues)”

As recently and unendingly reported, LCD Soundsystem has a big year planned. In addition to performing at this year’s Bonnaroo in June, LCD Soundsystem has provided the entire soundtrack for the new Noah Baumbach film Greenberg – starring the recently avatarized Ben Stiller — and also has his third full-length set to drop on May 18 — check the album details here.

This fresh track, ripped from NME radio (via We All Want Something to Shout For) is one that will appear on the Greenberg soundtrack. “Oh You (Christmas Blues)” emphasizes James Murphy’s attempt at 70’s pop-rock — which apparently, the entire soundtrack will consist of — and features the English lad giving his best solo Lennon impersonation (with satisfying success!)

The rip is pretty shitty quality, but it gets the job done. Stream/download above.

Free Energy, a Philadelphia based Rock band, will release their debut album Stuck on Nothing via DFA/Astralwerks on March 9. James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem, and owner of DFA records, produced this amazingly catchy power-pop album and you can stream/download the first single entitled: “Hope Child” above.

In support of their James Murphy produced debut album Stuck On Nothing, the Philadelphia classic rock revivalists Free Energy will be gearing up and heading out on a North American tour, beginning at the end of February. I was lucky enough to receive a promo of Stuck on Nothing a few weeks ago and have been spinning it ever since. Foreign Born will be joining Free Energy on tour as their opening act (for most of the gigs.)

Stuck on Nothing will be available digitally on March 6 and physically on May 4 via Astralwerks/DFA records. Dates below:

* UPDATE – the ???’s next to Thom Yorke’s name have been confirmed to be indicators of the participation that Yorke’s recent supergroup — consisting of the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Flea, producer Nigel Godrich, Joey Waronker and Mauro Refosco — will have at this years festival, reports Entertainment Weekly!

To jumpstart the festival season, Coachella has taken the liberty in announcing the lineup for this years event. Over the past years, Coachella has made a name for itself in acting as a host to reuniting legends. This year, it’ll be Pavement. Gorillaz are also billed as a headliner, with their latest forthcoming record Plastic Beach set to drop sometime prior. Other notable guests include the John Lydon fronted Public Image Ltd., LCD Soundsytem, and Thom Yorke (???), who is slated as a possibility for the final of the three nights.

Coachella will take place from April 16-18 in Indio, CA. More information can be found at the official website here… And so it begins!

James Murphy – better known as LCD Soundsytem – has made some fine sounding music in the past, and we all are undeniably impatiently awaiting his as-of-yet untitled third LP that will feature a March release date. In addition to a new LP from the modern day dance pioneer next year, Murphy will be providing new music that is set to be featured in director Noah Baumbach’s next film, “Greenberg”, which also will be released in March (March 12th to be exact.) Rejoice!
